Artistry in Games is looking for Contributing Writers Needed for Artistry in Games

DESCRIPTION

Artistry in Games is a new site taking a look at the art behind games and the brains that create it. It does not matter whether the game is console, mobile or tabletop. Art is art. What is written about can range from concept art to level design, textures to music, experience to user interface. Pretty much anything related to the art of the game.

We are looking for enthusiastic writers to contribute and be a part of the launch and growth of artistryingames.com.

Writers will receive credit for all of their posts and be featured in an author's section.

WHAT WE NEED

We have three separate needs at this time. You may apply for one, or for any combination.

* Reviews – AiG reviews are not like others. The focus of our reviews are the artistry. The games are reviewed on a unique system. When you play a game, if you pay special attention to the artwork, story and care when a game sticks with you days or weeks after playing, then you’re the right person to review. The word count is not as important as the thoroughness of the review, and the inclusion of plenty of eye candy

* News – New concept art released?

Designers added to a companies team? A new game announcement? Access to a page from an artists sketchbook? These are the items we’re after. The more unique the news, the better. Ideally, this person would deliver 2-3 pieces of news a week, however, that number is negotiable.

Editorial / Interviews –

These are the meat of the site and what we’re after the most. It’s what sets AiG apart. Just take a look at art ofthetitle.com to get a great idea of where we’re headed and what we’re looking for. The more sketches, process, insight, opinions and honesty, the better.

SKILLS & TOOLS REQUIRED

* Excellent English and grammar skills.

* Love game art. We mean a deep love for game art.

* Committed to chosen topic or game review and finish within a reasonable amount of time.

* Avid gamer.

* Must be 18 years of age.

* Able to capture screen shots and/or video. If tabletop games, ability to take good photos.

* Experience with Wordpress CMS a plus.

PAID OR VOLUNTEER? Both depending on which need you’re looking to fill. Let’s put it this way. If you’re looking to get your feet wet, and only have an example or two, then volunteer with us for a few months.
